You are what you eat! 

Hi everyone!

You are what you eat! I heard a doctor mention this on the radio.

Why? Because our bodies respond to what we eat. We cannot fool our bodies. If we put lots of sugar into them they will respond accordingly.

We can consume large amounts of pastries and puffs and then say “I will remain thin and healthy” but that won’t change the fact. We will put on weight and over time begin to manifest very bad health!

The fact is, what you allow into yourself becomes a part of who you are.

This is also true of our minds!

The apostle Paul says in 2 Cor 10:3-5  “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Paul is saying that we must aggressively take every thought captive to make sure these thoughts are in line with God’s heart. He understood the battle of the mind. What we put into our minds through the gates of our eyes and ears will manifest accordingly. He instructs us to filter the things that we allow in our minds. God does not tell us to do this to control us, it’s because He loves us and KNOWS what’s good for us!

Philippians 4:8-98 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (NIV)

Look at some truths from God’s Word!

You are completely forgiven by God

You are righteous and pleasing to God

You are totally accepted by God

You are deeply loved by God

You are absolutely complete in Christ

The Holy Spirit dwells in you

You are God’s child

You are a joint heir with Christ

You can do all things through Him who gives you strength

God works all things for good for those who love Him.         

Wow! How’s that for noble, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy truth!

We need to be feasting (ie reading and hearing) from the word of God and limiting what comes out of the world! The more we do this the stronger we become at talking captive, lines of thought that don’t agree with the truth of who we are and what we are called to do!
